Refund Policy

This Refund Policy explains how refunds, deferrals, and transfers work for Swim Maldives event registrations and merchandise.

If you need help, email hello@swimmaldives.org with your full name, order/registration number, event name, and proof of payment.

A) Event registrations

1) Standard refunds

  • Within 7 days of purchase and at least 14 days before race day: full refund minus non-recoverable processing/bank fees.

  • Within 13–7 days before race day: 50% refund minus fees.

  • 6 days or fewer before race day: non-refundable (commitments and safety planning are already locked in).

If you registered less than 14 days before race day, the refund window is limited to 48 hours from purchase, provided it’s still at least 7 days before race day.

2) Deferrals & transfers (if capacity allows)

  • Deferral to a future edition: request no later than 7 days before race day; a modest admin fee may apply.

  • Participant transfer (name change): permitted until 7 days before race day; admin fee may apply.

  • Category changes are subject to availability and cut-offs.

3) Medical exceptions

If you cannot participate due to a serious medical issue, email hello@swimmaldives.org with a doctor’s note no later than 5 days after the event date. We may offer a partial refund or deferral at our discretion.

4) Event changes, postponement, or cancellation

  • Course or schedule changes: no refund if the event proceeds in a reasonably equivalent format.

  • Postponement: your entry automatically moves to the new date. If you can’t make it, you may request a credit/deferral (deadlines will be announced).

  • Cancellation (not rescheduled): you may choose a credit/deferral or a partial refund less non-recoverable costs already incurred (permits, safety, logistics, processing).

5) No-shows & disqualifications

No refunds for no-shows, late arrivals, or disqualification for rule/safety violations.

B) Merchandise (if offered)

  • Change-of-mind: return unused/unworn items with original tags/packaging within 7 days of delivery for a refund or size exchange (stock permitting).

  • Defects or wrong item received: notify us within 7 days of delivery with photos; we’ll replace or refund.

  • Shipping charges are non-refundable except for defective/incorrect items. You’re responsible for return shipping for change-of-mind returns.

C) How refunds are paid

  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method where possible; otherwise by bank transfer (MVR).

  • Bank charges and payment processor fees are non-refundable.

  • Please allow a reasonable processing period after we confirm eligibility.

D) Non-refundable items

  • Digital downloads or services already delivered.

  • Last-chance/clearance items marked “final sale”.

  • Admin fees for transfers/deferrals and third-party processing fees.

E) Chargebacks

If you file a chargeback while your refund request is pending, we may pause review until the card issuer resolves the dispute.

F) Policy updates

We may update this Policy. The version posted on swimmaldives.org at the time you request a refund applies.
